Chosen People
1 Peter 2:9 ESV
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
I heard a poll lately that those who are proud to be called an American is at just 39%. Now that is just a poll, and it really does not constitute the feelings or mind set of every American, but still, that is ridiculous. Three in ten Americans consider themselves of no religious affiliation at all.
63% of Americans consider themselves as Christian but as the questions proceed about praying, reading the Bible and going to church, that number falls. Evangelical Christians, Christians who live out their faith actively, are about 28%
Here is my thought on this; if we are saved by grace, brought out of darkness by His marvelous light, should we not proclaim that in our lives? Should we not proclaim that message to everyone we see and everywhere we go? This is good news, it is the Gospel and it is what will save and heal and give people a new lease on life.
I don’t want anyone to be lost, I want everyone to know Jesus as Lord, Master, Savior. I want everyone to have true peace and not a poor representation of what some call peace. We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a people possessed by God. We have been given a hope and a future. We possess the answer for the world’s twisted fate.
I would like for America to come back to God as a whole and stop the insanity and be proud of America as we should be.
Prayer:
Father God, You have sent the answer to our waywardness and sins through Your Son Jesus Christ. God save America! God NEVER let us Christians fall silent and allow our nation to decay away. God bless America because of Your children. In Your name Father God, Amen!
