Job 13:5 ESV
“Oh that you would keep silent, and it would be your wisdom!”

This quote is from when Job had enough of his so called friends. He had finally listened to their rhetoric long enough. So he gave his friends advice that should be pondered by many.

Abraham Lincoln once said, “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool  than to speak and to remove all doubt.”

Job’s friends thought they were doing the right thing by defending God and accusing Job of sin, but they had no idea what they were talking about. Job was not suffering for doing wrong, he in fact was a righteous man.

Through Job, God was proving great things and was doing great things. Getting back to our scripture, Jobs friends thought they were helping but they were wrong. Isnt it like that sometimes with people that want to help, They believe they have a prophetic word or a word of wisdom for us and instead of helping it brings division or pain. Check with God, check your heart and attitude before you try to correct someone with your best advice.

Prayer:
Father, check my heart, for from it flows the issues of life. From my mouth flows both life and death.
