Validation
Genesis 1:27 ESV
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
This foundational truth reminds us that we are extremely valuable and worthy in God’s eyes, simply because we are His greatest creation. We don’t need to strive for external validation or material possessions to be enough; we are enough as we are to Him.
We go through life seeking validation. We may say we do not need it, but at different junctures of life we seek it out none-the-less. We want to feel like we matter. We want to feel useful; we want to be someone whom others count on to be there in the clutch, or we just want to feel like we have worth and value.
We may not always get it from people, but I know that God sees us as extraordinary. He took such pains to form us in our mother’s womb. We may not have been valued in the family that we grew up in, but God had a purpose to design, fashion and develop each and every one of us.
He takes great pleasure in us, He is extremely proud of us even if we feel like we haven’t done anything worthy of that honor, it does not affect our value to our Father God.
Today, let’s find our self-worth in God and knowing God has created us. His hand is on us, and He has designed a destiny and a pathway for each and every one of us. It doesn’t matter who discounts us or who has treated us badly we are created in the image of our heavenly Father.
Prayer:
Father God, our self-worth and value are based in You. You have fashioned us for a purpose and a specific goal. Help us to trust, rely, and seek Your validation for us. What You think of us matters the most. In Your name Lord we ask, Amen!
