I Got This

John 16:33 ESV

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

We face troubles in this world, there is no doubt about that, but we have an out in every situation. Even if we are not totally delivered from our circumstances, we can have peace in the middle of our circumstances. Every new week holds some same-ole challenges, and some brand-new challenges. Learning how to navigate and remain at peace through these challenges can be a challenge in itself.

When I read this passage this morning, I immediately fixed on the part of this passage that says, “…take heart; I have overcome the world.” Here is the way I see it for me; worries about Monday morning? Jesus says, “I got this.” Worries about pain and sickness, Jesus says, “I got this.” Worries about finances, Jesus says, “I got this.” Worries about an annoying person in our lives, Jesus says, “I got this.”

Worries, anxiety, and stress in itself that disrupts our lives at every level, Jesus says, “I got this.” As I said in the beginning, even if we are not totally delivered out of our circumstances, we can trust that Jesus has “got this” through our circumstances. All we need to do is receive the peace, “He’s got this.”

Prayer:

Lord, we cast our cares, our sickness, and sufferings on You, because “You got this.” In Your name Lord, Amen!
