Steadfast Love
Psalms 103: 17-18 ESV
“But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.”
If we are not careful to perceive, we will pass right by this rich verse. David says basically, “the love of God is firm, unmovable, unchangeable and it has lasted forever and will last forever. His purity, His holiness was offered not only to Adam and Eve, but it will be offered to our children and the generations that will follow until the end of time.”
The love of God never walks out the door and it’s not hot one day and cold the other. His love never gives up on us, it never sees us in a different light from one day to the next.
His love is faithful, and His love grows ever the more stronger as we come closer to Him. His love is so strong and so powerful that when we wake up in the morning, He greets us with a holy kiss no matter what we feel like, no matter what we look like, no matter how our breath smells, no matter what we have acted like the day before.
I not only want this for me, but I also want it for my great, great, great grandchildren.
Prayer:
Lord God, Your steadfast love means the world to me. I need it, I have to have it to sustain me, I need it to wake me up in the morning and walk with me all through the day. I need that steadfast unchangeable love to lay me down to rest at night and give me great dreams of You immense love for me and my family, and friends. In Your name Lord God, Amen!
