Isaiah 12:2 ESV
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”
In Isaiah’s time, foreign invaders, political instability, and crises of one kind or another was the norm. The people to whom he was sent lived in a world that was unpredictable and out of their control. If you listen to the news, it almost sounds like our times are not much different from Isaiah’s time.
It reminds us that there are events happening on a scale far beyond our reach and our ability to control them. Isaiah told His audience, “I will trust, and will not be afraid.” That is the message we as Christians need to portray first and then prophecy.
In a world of instability and uncertainty we have to be the exception not the norm. As the world gets worse, we have to be more resilient and say, “I will trust and not be afraid.” The Lord is my strength my song, and my salvation, whom shall I fear?
Prayer:
Father, no matter what I see, no matter what I hear. In You I will trust and not be afraid!
