Psalms 105:1-2 NKJV
“Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works!”
The trend has been for years in churches in the US and around the world, to sing songs, at praise and worship, that draw the crowds. Now I have no problem with singing songs that are popular, songs that are familiar, but they should be songs that say something of substance.
Like how great God is, and how wonderful are all His works, and how He loves us no matter who we are and songs that tell of His mercy and grace. After all isn’t it He we are supposed to be singing to? Do we not gather together to worship God our Creator and Jesus our Lord and Savior and the Holy Spirit that inspires and dwells within us?
Sing to the Lord, tell of His greatness. We are to worship Him from our Spirits and sing glory to His name.
Prayer:
Father, forgive us for what we have made praise and worship. It was never supposed to be about us, it should be all about You!
