Knowing Our Path
Psalms 16:11 ESV
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Finding our destiny is not always easy in this life, unless we know the Lord. He reveals our path that we are to follow. Sometimes finding that path comes through hardships, but those should never deter us, but inspire us to go further.
The translators used a semicolon at the end of David’s first statement because that first statement was profound. Only God reveals to us our specific path to our destiny.
“In Your presence is fullness of joy.” If in the first statement we found our pathway a bit rugged in the quest for our destiny, then the second brings comfort, peace, joy, and contentment or a place of rest. That encourages us to keep moving on. But as we walk our pathway in our quest for our destiny, we are guaranteed pleasures at God’s right hand, not just a moment of pleasure, but pleasures forever more.
We could say this in prayer this morning:
“Lord, I found my way to You and You have shown me what I’m here to do. It has not always been easy Lord, but in times when I came up from the valley, You were right alongside me holding my hand. I found peace, rest, fulfillment and a joy that was inexpressible when I came out of my valleys. My reward is You Lord. My reward is being in Your presence forevermore.” AMEN!
