Committing to God All Our ways

Proverbs 16:3 ESV
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

What exactly does committing all our ways to God look like? In the Hebrew language, committing all of our ways to God means to roll all of our ways over to God. Picture this; we have a task to do, we can sit down, plan it out, go through all the careful steps and we believe we will be successful in this endeavor and then we begin to carry it out.

Or a better way is, we can sit across from God, roll the responsibility and task over to Him and say, “Father, I could do this on my own, but I do not know if my way is the best way. So, I am rolling this task over to You. When You are ready for me to begin the task, walk me through it step by step, or just walk me through it (AS I GO). I trust You!”

That way, it will be done right the first time. Then our plans will succeed, then we will be firmly established. Everything from going grocery shopping to taking a trip across America. Everything from saving money and putting it away for the future, to taking out a loan. If we want it done right, we have to start out right with God.

Prayer:
Lord, we commit our way to You. You direct us from planning it out, to crossing the finish line. Then we will succeed. Then we will be established, then we will bring glory to Your name. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
