The Lord is On Our Side

Psalms 118:5-6 ESV
“Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

Question: how many times has God rescued us from trouble, from peril, from fear, from sorrow, from anguish of soul or even death? We can’t count that many times. Often, when we get our deliverance from God we forget about it. God has answered ALL of our prayers, sometimes not exactly the way we asked but He does answer.

He has healed, provided, rescued, delivered more times than we can ever realize. In fact, He has delivered us more times than we realize when we didn’t ask for deliverance. I know God is watching, caring, delivering even when we are asleep.

When the lights go out at night, I sense Him in the room with me and my wife and I know He is also in the homes of my children and grandchildren, siblings and friends and their families, but I also sense His presence even when I am not consciously engaging Him in prayer or praise.

If God is for us, who can be against us? We have an amazing, loving, watchful God!

Prayer:
Father, thank You for being so faithful to me and my family and friends. Thank you for always being by my side, even when I am not consciously aware that You are there.
