What a Gracious Loving God

Psalms 103:10-12 NLT
“He does not punish us for all our sins; He does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For His unfailing love toward those who fear Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”

God is so gracious, David says that God does not punish us as we deserve, and he is right. There is nothing that we have done to make God love us so much, He just loves us because that’s who He is. He forgives us of our sins because that’s what He does. He is not like we are, we remember everyone’s faults and failures. He is a loving, forgiving God.

David says God’s love is as high as the heavens, and if you know anything about our galaxy and the universe, the heavens are infinite, never ending. I don’t know how much David knew about astronomy, but I believe his words were prophetic, God’s love is limitless. In fact, God is so gracious that David says that God has removed our sins as far as the east is from the west.

What’s amazing to me is, we remember past sins like they were yesterday and we allow satan to beat us up about those past sins but to the Forgiver, our gracious Lord, our sins are gone forever, like they never happened in the first place.

What a wonderful Savior!

Father, thank you, despite myself and my sinful nature, you love me and forgive and stay by my side. You are an amazing God!
