Godly Characteristics

Zechariah 7:9-10 ESV
“Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”

Sometimes I believe the church has fogotten what we are here to do. As Christ’s representatives we are to; “render true judgments (don’t show partiality), show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor…”

Don’t get me wrong, churches are full of compassionate, God fearing people that love people inside and outside the church walls. Yet, often the church is so busy running things at the church and conducting the business of the church, it forgets what we were commissioned to do.

Yes, take care of the Christians within the church, but reach out to the lost world and show them Jesus. Inside the church is only half of our duties. The churches main focus should be to train the ones inside, to reach the ones outside.

Prayer:
Lord remind me everyday that I have to reach the lost, the hurting, the poor, the downtrodden. In Your name Lord, Amen!
