Psalms 92: 12 ESV
“The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.”

The Palm tree has amazing resilience. The palm tree has spaghetti-like roots that grow into a ball, forging a deep and strong root structure in the ground. Their leaves have flexible spines that fold up against hard weather. The trunk of the palm tree has super strength  that will allow a palm tree to bend up to 50 degrees without snapping!

The fact that God planted the cedars in Lebanon was a sign of His power and goodness. Cedar trees were used in the palace of David and in the first Temple of Solomon. The cedar tree were symbols of strength and endurance. So, when David says, the righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” It is the highest complement to the righteous resilience, strength and honor.

Father, you know me better than I know myself. Help me to live up to Your expectations.
