Don’t Forget What God Has Done
Psalms 103:1-4 ESV
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy…”
Have you ever had to talk to yourself and tell yourself to get up and keep going?
Have you ever had the occasion where life got you down and you fell prey to the things that surround you?
Have you ever had to remind yourself that you are a child of God, redeemed and saved by His Son?
David did in this Psalm. David is now in his older years, reflection is not always good when you can still vividly see all that you have done wrong. David did something that we all need to do from time to time, talk to yourself and say, “Get up and praise the Lord whether you feel like it or not…NOW! Then David said to himself, “do not forget all the benefits that you have had while serving the Lord.”
If you can only remember the bad, then you need a checkup from the neck up, because I believe there are times when He has done some amazing things in your life. God wants your adoration and praise. Do it in words, do it in a song, write it, shout it, get up and dance before the Lord like David did. Whatever you have to do to praise Him, it will change your perspective.
Prayer:
Lord, we owe You so much, I praise You for who You are, and I praise You for what You have done. I praise You in the Morning, I praise You in the noon time, I praise You when the sun goes down. In your name Lord, Amen!
