Proverbs 16:20b
“…Whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.”

Happiness eludes a lot of people. Many people seek things to make them happy; a special day, a gift, something new. Others really on others to make them happy, a spouse that will treat them special, A child that will call and have a great conversation once in awhile. A boss that tells them how proud they are to have them as an employee, or a co-worker that is finally nice and supportive.

Too many times people let us down when we need them to rise to the occasion. Honestly, a lot of the time we put to much pressure on people hoping they will do the right thing and help us to be happy.

To be happy we first must be happy on our own with Jesus. If we can do that, the pressure is off others hoping they will make us happy. Solomon said, “whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.”

Jesus is always with us, always watching, always preparing a way, always has our best interest at heart and of course He can always provide what we need to live a joyfull and fulfilled life. So, trust the Lord, and He will give you the joy that you need.

Prayer:
Father, I don’t want to rely on things or others to bring me happiness. I want to learn to be joyful and content with You and myself first.
