The Heavens Declare Your Glory
Psalms 19:1-6 ESV
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.
In them he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy. Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat.”
Explanation:
David so eloquently describes God’s handy work. His words are poetic and beautiful, and his description is adequate. However there is nothing more beautiful than what we see when we look at the beauty of the night sky and the glory of a rising sun over the ocean.
In light of Romans 1:19-20 ESV; “For what can be known about God is plain to them (sinners), because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
People refuse to believe in God. They believe that all we see with the stars and the planets, the earth and all its beauty, and the creation of all living things including man, all came about by some cosmic explosion or from an amoeba.
Prayer:
Father, Creator, Master of all things, we adore You and Your handy work. All the things that you have created are perfect! Thank You for You, thank You for Your creation. In Your name Father God, Amen!
