His Eye Is on the Sparrow, and I Know He Watches Me.
Psalms 32:8-9 AMP
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye upon you. Do not be like the horse or like the mule which have no understanding, Whose trappings include bridle and rein to hold them in check, Otherwise they (instruction and counsel) will not come near to you.”
Obviously, God has given us understanding and the ability to discern. We are not like a horse or a mule that has to be trained and must be guided by bridle and reins.
We have seen people in this world that resemble these types of animals, people that seem to be carefree and stubborn, that would rather run haphazardly about without any constraint or control. Actually, sometimes it is hard to navigate society because of these types of people. We cannot worry about them; we need to take care of ourselves and hear the voice of the Lord leading us.
Honestly, I still need instructions daily, who to pray for, what to say and what not to say, you get the idea. The things I like about this Psalms is that God is willing to instruct, teach, and counsel me. Then God says that His eye is on us, watching and directing our path. Reminds me of the old hymn “His Eye Is on the Sparrow.”
Prayer:
Lord God, watch us, lead us, guide us and direct our lives for Your name’s sake. I know Your eyes are on us and You see the dangers ahead and You provide Your protection and blessings. Thank You for loving us so much Lord God, Amen!
