Pleasing God
Proverbs 16:7 ESV
“When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
Faith pleases God: Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists…”
Sharing pleases God: Hebrew 13:16 says, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”
Renewing our mind pleases God: Romans 12: 2 says, “… be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
In the things we do, if we work as though we were working for God, that pleases God. Colossians 3:23 ESV says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men…”
Obviously singing please God, Ephesians 5:19 says, “…addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.”
So, if we are pleasing God, today’s passage says, “When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Pleasing God is beneficial even when it concerns our personal life With the people we love and with the people who do not love us.
Prayer:
Lord, I just want to please You. In all situations, I want to please You first.
