Psalms 37:3-4 ESV
“Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

David gives four prerequisites for getting the desires of your heart; (1) Trust completely in the Lord, He has to be EVERYTHING to us. (2) Always live with the prerequisite of doing good, wherever we go, whatever we do, with whoever we are with, do good, do the right thing! (3) Befriend faithfulness (let faithfulness be our first response in all situations). It is not just an idea, nor should it be something that we have to do, It should be something that is part of us, who we are; faithful to God first, faithful in our calling, faithful in our relationships and faithful to be a representative of our Lord Jesus Christ! (4) Delighting ourselves in the Lord, enjoying His presence, His love, His Spirit that drives us to be better. Then when all of these are accomplished, He will give us the desires of our heart.

Understand, when we put all of these ingredients together, It makes a marvelous, unselfish, relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That relationship changes our perspective on things, changes our thoughts and attitudes.

Prayer:

Father, the delights of my heart have changed since our relationship has grown stronger. I want what You want and what You want for me.
