Hiding Place
Psalms 32:7 NIV
“You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.”
Have you ever wanted to escape from the world, not forever, just so you can breathe and relax? Well, I have good news, you can do that anytime that you want, with Jesus.
You may have to get in a quiet place, you may have to silence the phone and turn off the TV, but our Jesus can be your hiding place any time that you need the peace. I know what you are thinking, the trouble will still be there when you come back, but will it, or could a fresh perspective give you insight and direction.
It happens to me, when I’m struggling with something, I walk away and do something else, and I come back and see the situation through fresh eyes. Often, I ask the Lord to help me see the situation with fresh eyes.
With the troubles that life affords, we can get in close to Jesus, just like when we were children, and we found a place to hide during hide-and-go-seek. We found a place that was hidden, we scrunched in, and we got really quiet, and we listened.
Try the same principle with Jesus, let Him be your hiding place. While you are there, let Him fill your mind with songs of praise and peace.
Prayer:
Lord You are my hiding place. Protect me from trouble, doubts, confusion and trade my storms for peace. Fill me as You always do with songs of deliverance. Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You! In Your name sweet Jesus, Amen!
