Pleasing the Lord
2 Corinthians 5:9 ESV “… walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”
I had a gentleman one time tell me that he did not serve the Lord because God kept Moses, after all He had been through, out of the promised land. Did he not know God took him to a better place than the promised land, heaven.
I had another gentleman say that he did not serve God because he didn’t want to deal with guilt. Of course I said, “that guilt is not of God, guilt is manufactured by satan to make us feel guilty even though we know we are forgiven and blessed.”
One man said that he had heard everything there was to hear about God, so he didn’t need to go to church anymore. Everyone can find their excuse not to serve God. But I choose to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him.”
Prayer:
There is old song that I will use in this prayer that says; “The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows, the more I love Him, the more love He bestows. Each day is like heaven, my heart overflows, the longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows…” In Your name Lord, Amen!
