Fried Egg

Proverbs 1:20-23 NIV

“Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square; on top of the wall she cries out, at the city gate she makes her speech: “How long will you who are simple love your simple ways?  How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings.”

Do you remember the old commercial about the person holding the egg and they say, “this is your brain.” Then they break the egg and put it in the hot pan and the egg begins to cook and they say, “this is your brain on drugs?” Well, our brains are not on drugs, but sometimes we reject God’s wisdom and do things our own way. The results? Scrabbled eggs!

Wisdom comes from God every day,. I hear it calling loud, every day, so why is it I choose to do things without thinking clearly about them, or worse choosing my own way? I’m human, I think I know what’s best for me sometimes, but do I? That prophecy is self-evident, I do not know what is best for me.

So, when I come to my senses and I listen to God deep down inside, then out the window goes my will, and I choose God’s way. Wisdom is calling, I just have to put on my listening ears.

Prayer:
Father, help me to get me out of the way, and receive Your thoughts to me. Make known to me Your teachings and Your perfect will for my life, in Your Precious Holy name, Amen!
