Faith Passed Down

2 Timothy 1:5 ESV
“I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.”

As Mother’s Day is coming up in a few days, I’m reminded that many of us were introduced to the teachings and faith in Jesus Christ from our mothers. I for one experienced Jesus at home. We prayed with the family in the living room before we headed out to the bus to go to school. Mom or dad would read a passage in the Bible, and we would all got on our knees and prayed for the day.

I remember hearing my mother pray intently, calling out for God to keep us and take care of us, and to provide what we needed for the day. I also remember hearing my mother expressing the importance on calling out in the name of Jesus. She would teach us that there was power in His name, and power in His blood.

Today, all of us brothers are involved in the church, and we hold fast to Jesus Christ as our Savior. I believe that work started with my mother and was infused into six boys. That power and anointing has kept us in the palm of His hands.

Prayer:
Thank You Lord for faithful mothers that taught us about Jesus. Help us to carry on the work of our faithful mothers and infuse our children with Jesus as well. In You loving name Lord Jesus, Amen!
