God Have Mercy
Psalms 40:4 ESV
“Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie!”
I read that this morning and thought immediately of America. America was once known as the land of the free, the home of the brave. That is still true for a remnant of Americans, but for the masses, we are no better off than a third world country.
Americans, for the most part, have lost that spark in their eyes. They have lost their drive to accomplish the finer things in life like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. They are not sure how free we really are anymore.
Much of Americans have bought into the lie that there is no God, and no hope for a life after this life, no real purpose, no sound reasoning. They have bought the lie that they are their own god. But for the remnant of God’s people, we still believe, we still hold to God’s unchanging hands. For us there is a hope and a future and a life to come with Jesus forever.
We still stand tall, we still believe in God, trust in God, God is our source, our strength, our help in times of trouble. For us, we still believe that God established this great nation as one nation under God. We honor God and all the men and women who have stood for this nation and who still believe there is hope.
For those who trust in God, we reject the proud and arrogant, we refute the lies, and we look to God the Author and Finisher of our faith. We receive the blessings of God, and we stand in His name.
Prayer:
Lord God, we will not adhere to the lies, nor to the proud that promote the lies. We may be citizens of America, but first and foremost we are citizens of Your Kingdom. We stand for You, we hold fast to Your hand, we trust in You and we will not turn to another. God have mercy on America, Amen!
