God Frustrates the Plans of Our Enemy
Nehemiah 4:15-18 ESV
“When our enemies heard that it was known to us and that God had frustrated their plan, we all returned to the wall, each to his work. From that day on, half of my servants worked on construction, and half held the spears, shields, bows, and coats of mail…
Those who carried burdens were loaded in such a way that each labored on the work with one hand and held his weapon with the other. And each of the builders had his sword strapped at his side while he built.”
Explanation:
I love it when God frustrates the enemies plans, and I have seen that happen a million times in my life. I like what Nehemiah said, “God had frustrated their plan, we all returned to the wall, each to his work.”
I have seen people have parties, celebrations and all kinds of reveling when God defeats the enemy’s plans, only to have the enemy sneak in a side door and wreak havoc. Defeat of our enemies may call for praise and worship for what God has done, but continue the work with vigilance. Get back to work, carry the sword in your heart and mind and continue about the Father’s business.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the millions of times that you have defeated and frustrated the plans of the enemy in our lives. You are Almighty and all powerful and the glory belongs to You! Help us to never relax, but to stay on guard, listening to Your warnings and resting in Your shadow, but working for the Kingdom. In Your name Lord, Amen!
