Put On the Lord Jesus Christ

Romans 13:14a
“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ…”

Picture this, this morning; we wake up, whether we are in a good mood or a bad mood, it makes no difference, and we make a crucial decision. We mentally and spiritually begin to wipe the sleep from our eyes and hearts, and we decide to put on Jesus, before we get up, before we speak to anyone, before we have our coffee, we put on Jesus. At that point, we trade darkness for light, negative for positive, and just getting by for real life and meaning through Jesus.

As believers, we wake up and throw off our night clothes, mentally, physically and spiritually and get dressed in the appropriate outfit for the new day. Today, and every day, it is a brand-new outfit, it is Jesus Christ and all that He embodies.

Imagine that every morning we revitalize our walk with the Lord and put on Jesus Christ for ourselves first and then for others that they may see Jesus through our words, actions, and deeds.

Prayer:
Lord, some days are tough to get out of bed physically and sometimes even mentally, but spiritually it is a matter of choice. Help us today to put on You and all that means. Our sense of purpose can change when we put You on. Our sense of reality can be changed and even the thoughts of what Monday typically holds for us can be changed. We don’t want to put on just a little bit of Jesus, help us to put on the full Jesus experience today. In Your name Lord, Amen!
