The Salvation Walk

Romans 13:11b
“For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.”

Salvation, according to Paul’s writings throughout the New Testament, is not just a one-time experience, but salvation is a daily walk with God. We may have received Jesus in our lives on a specific day, but the day just started the walk of salvation.

When we are in a relationship with someone in our lives, we typically want that relationship to blossom, to become a priority. We sow into that relationship, and we hope the other person is doing the same and desiring the same outcome.

In our relationship with God, we know that He is sowing into our relationship with Him. He guides by His Holy Spirit, He opens doors of opportunities and closes doors where He does not want us to go, for our own wellbeing. He draws us closer, wanting to spend time with us, wanting to be the most important person in our lives. He is the perfect friend, companion, Creator, Master, and most of all Father.

Every day we should strive to please Him, show Him love and desire to know Him more. Daily we should be listening to His voice, meditating on His words, doing the things that will progress our relationship with Him. When we do that, He pours out blessings that we can hardly contain.

Every day is a progress walk with God. We could say that today we are closer to our ultimate salvation with God than we were yesterday, and if we keep moving forward with God, tomorrow we will be closer than we are today. I like that! Then, our ultimate salvation, when we see Jesus, will be the pinnacle of our walk with our Savior the fulfilment of our salvation

Prayer:
Lord, let us progress in our experience with You today. We don’t want to be like we were yesterday, and tomorrow we don’t want to be like we were today, although it was great, tomorrow can be better, brighter, more fulfilling. The more we know You, the more we know ourselves, the more we can grow and be pleasing to You. In Your name Precious Savior, Amen!
