Keeping Pure
Psalms 119:9 AMP
“How can a young man (or woman) keep his way pure? By keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to Your precepts]”
Whether we are young, old, middle of the road, it doesn’t matter, this advice holds the same truth for all. Boys, girls, men women, there is only one way to stay pure in our walk with integrity, by staying in God’s word.
Many see the Bible as intimidating, they have no idea how to read it, study it, or navigate its pages. There are thousands of lesson plans that can help. There are special Bibles with notes and commentaries within its pages to explain what is being read.
There are Bibles for leaders, teachers, students, men, women, children, prayer Bibles, worship Bibles, even dramatized Bibles on CD. There are audio Bibles, large print Bibles and over 450 translations of the Bible. There is just about any kind of Bible that can help anyone navigate the Bible for maximum learning.
All excuses out the window on reading the Bible,. The Bible is the one place where we know we can go to maximize our relationship with God and others. In it’s pages we read, understand and know who God is and what He wants for us. The Bible is the one place where we can go to find out answers for life, love, and the pursuit of happiness.
How do we remain pure? Psalms 119:9-16 explains it. Also Philippians 4:8 says to stay pure, we keep our minds on, “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Prayer:
Lord Jesus gives us insight and direction into Your words. You gave us all the tools for a successful, pure, and joyful life, we just have to explore all that is said. You have provided a way for understanding; we just need to have the want to, and the desire of seeking the truths in Your words. Amen!
