Sheltered In the Arms of God
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Dismayed is a strange word that we do not use anymore, it means, “distress typically caused by something unexpected.” We may not use that word, but I guarantee we have all been there from time to time. Israel was dismayed a lot.
When God told Israel to not fear because He was with them. They did not jump at the chance for a right relationship with God until they were so dismayed, they were desperate for relief.
Now you can’t know this comfort unless you have been in fear and you have found comfort and peace at some point in your life at the hands of God’s mercy. That’s what God produces every time you put yourself in His arms, and His arms are always open wide to receive you.
From there, God says, “I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” From a comforting hug to a walk with the Mighty God holding our hand, now that’s pure bliss.
Prayer:
Lord, David said, the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want (for anything). I need you gentle Shepherd, be close beside me! In Your righteous name I ask, Amen!
