Trust
Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
There are three kinds of people in this world; those who do not believe in God or His Son. Those who DO believe that Jesus came to this earth and worked miracles and died for you and me and rose again, and those who not only believe but actively trust Jesus to work in their lives.
The first group still have the Spirit of God drawing them to God, but they are actively rejecting Him, they want no part of His redeeming work.
The second group believe that Jesus existed, lived, and did great things. They believe that He died for our sins, they believe He rose again, and He did a perfect work to bring us to Him forever. Just believing is not enough to live a fulfilled life in Jesus.
That’s where the third group steps in. The third group seeks His face every morning because they are thankful that Jesus provided the new day, and they want Him to have His perfect will in their day. Then they praise Him for His goodness and mercy. They ask specific things for the day and then they do something extremely unique, they thank Him even before those things are accomplished. Then they go completely off the chart, and they trust Him because they know He is faithful. They begin to listen to His still voice inside for guidance through the day and they act accordingly because they trust Him explicitly that He will do as He said He will do.
Believing is not enough, active engagement to Jesus and trusting with every fiber of our being is the key to a long spiritually healthy life.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for another day, this is the day that You have made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it. Thank You for who You are and what You have done for me and my family and friends. Today, lead, guide, and direct me in Your perfect will. Guide my friends and family in Your perfect will. Thank You for leading and directing our lives today. I look to You and I trust You explicitly, You are the author and finisher of my faith, the one in whom my hope is secure. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
