Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Sometimes we listen to people, TV, or the news and we form opinions on what we hear. Sometimes we get swayed by what we hear, and sometimes that’s not good. When I preach or teach, I encourage everyone that hears me to check out what I am saying with God’s word. What I write, and the devotions that I send out, check them out, see if they line up with the word of God
There is no greater authority than God and His word. But as we listen to what people are saying, and what the news is saying, line it up with the word of God. If it does not line up with God’s word get rid of it, we have to spew it out of our minds. In fact, we need to spew it out and ask God to cleanse our minds. Because dangerous thoughts, those thoughts that do not line up with God’s word will poison the mind and corrupt our thinking.
Prayer:
Father, I trust in You with all your heart, so, I am not going to lean on my own understanding. Help me in all my ways and thoughts to acknowledge You. Then, you will make my paths straight!
