A Pass on the Judgment 

John 5:24

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

I have good news this morning, we get a pass when we believe and receive Jesus Christ as Savior of our lives, let me explain. This passage says that we first have to hear Jesus’s words, that means we have on our listening ears, not just our passive ears. It is listening to understand, the first prerequisite. Then we have to believe. This is not like “I’ll believe you until I find out otherwise,” this is believing without question.

When we are all in, when Jesus speaks, we listen intently when He calls, we answer, where He sends, we go. At that point we have the promise of eternal life. Forever more after that point, we get a pass on the “Great White Throne of Judgment”. Those who do not receive Christ will have to stand before the Judgement Seat at the end of time on earth. When we received Jesus, we passed from spiritual death to spiritual life with Jesus.

Thank You Lord, thank You for speaking, thank You for eternal life, thank You for giving us a pass on judgement and ushering us right into heaven with You forever, Amen!
