The Pure in Heart Will Possess God’s blessing
Deuteronomy 1:38-39 ESV
“Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall enter (the Promised Land). Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it. And as for your little ones, who you said would become a prey, and your children, who today have no knowledge of good or evil, they shall go in there. And to them I will give it, and they shall possess it.”
Good things come to those who believe. Although Joshua had to endure 40 years in the desert and watch almost a million Jews die in their unbelief,
He received life experiences. He saw the hand of God many many times and watched Moses in his service to the Lord. And, no doubt encouraged the younger generation to keep going, because what they would receive from God blessings beyond all imagination.
What did God see in this younger generation? God said they had no knowledge of good or evil. What does that mean? They were still innocent, not jaded, they had no bias like their parents and grandparents, God can work with that.
The lesson to The older generation of Israel? They said? “If we go and take the land, our children will be killed” God answered their unbelieving excuse by saying, “You will be killed, and your children will possess the land.”
God gave each of us the faith to believe and the innocence to follow Him. It’s up to us to use what we have been given to walk with God.
Prayer:
Father, never let us to become jaded, or stop believing and trusting in You. Teach us to never question Your ability to provide or let us stop at the doors that You have opened. Don’t let us miss out on Your blessing because of our unbelief. In Your name Father, Amen!
