Timothy 2:11-13 ESV
“The saying is trustworthy, for:
‘If we have died with Him, we will also live with Him;
If we endure, we will also reign with Him;
If we deny him, He also will deny us;
If we are faithless, He remains faithful—’ for He cannot deny himself.”
The four stanzas were believed to be a faithful hymn for the early church. It starts out describing salvation
“If we died with Him (in baptism), we will also live with Him (forever in glory).”
“If we endure, we will also reign with Him.” (If we stand the test of time, believing, trusting, and serving Him we will reign with Him in the new Jerusalem.”
“If we deny Him, (or reject His spirits drawing us to salvation).” “He also will deny us; (or reject us from His kingdom).”
“If we are faithless (Unable to stand strong in troubles times). He remains faithful.” (That is just who He is. He cannot turn as we do, nor can He ever be unfaithful to us.)
Prayer:
Lord, we have died with You but we also live through You and will be with You forever. Help us to endure, help us to remain faithful to You to the end. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen
