The Lord our Savior

Isaiah 64:1a, 3-4 ESV

“Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down…When you did awesome things that we did not look for, You came down, the mountains quaked at Your presence. From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for Him.”

This is a desperate cry for God to break through the barriers that lay between man and God. Most of the barriers that exist are made by mankind. Barriers like sin, attitude, selfish will. The Prophet then begins to remind God of what He did in the past for Israel. Even though Israel was not looking for God’s manifested power, still God was trying to get all of Israel’s attention. God is doing the same thing in our time. The prophet continues to speak about the wonders of a powerful God that would not give up on His people. The Prophet gives one clue about us seeing the hand of God working in our lives; waiting on God. Never has there been such a driving obedience than to be still and wait on God. God honors our patience; God honors the time when we are still before Him. Being still before God, waiting on God, says to God, there is no one else that can reach our situation but You Father God.

Prayer:

Lord, there is none like You, no one else can reach me like You do. No one else can deliver like You do. No one else can make sense out of our situation like You do. No one can do all of this with such grace and power like You do. Thank You Lord Jesus, Amen!
