When the Going Gets Tough
Philippians 4:12-13 NIV
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
We all have seen the best and the worst that this life has to offer. We have seen the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly of this life. We have all walked through dark valleys, but I hope we all have also seen the glory of the mountain top experiences.
We often feel like we do not measure up. Some feel like they are at a disadvantage. Some even feel broken by life, or by experiences, or even by relationships. Many will say that the glory has passed, I beg to differ. I believe the best is just around the corner or just over the next hill. Even though some may think it is too late, I look at some of the saints of the Old Testament and say, it is never too late when God is our source.
We stand today, not on our own merit and strength, but only by the grace, mercy and power of God. God is our vindicator, God is our source, God is our life. Let light fill the eyes that are dim, let hope arise in the heart that is broken. We can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. We can achieve more in the next days, weeks, months, and years, more than we thought possible.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, let faith arise in our hearts, let hope fill our minds. The things in this life, the things that we have given up on, the things that has set us back, the relationships that have failed, Lord Jesus, resurrect our hopes and dreams. Bring light out of darkness, faith out of fear, hope out of despair. We can do all things through You Lord Jesus, Amen!
