Giving With Meaning

Matthew 6:3-4 ESV

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”

Our church gives to several missions groups.  We sought God for each ministry before we started giving to them. We also do home missions in our area. More important than knowing who we are giving to is the command to give, to meet needs, and to help missionaries to survive and to do their ministry, to reach the world for Jesus. That could not happen if we did not give.

Times are hard, most of our church people are on fixed incomes. Most of the people that give to our ministry do so sacrificially. We as a church give to needs very carefully, knowing that we have to be proper stewards of the Lord’s money, our giving is meaningful and purposeful. We are open about the church finances and we make sure nothing is done for glory of the church, but only for the glory of our Lord and Savior.

Prayer:

Lord, as we give, I pray that each one that gives to needs and to the church be blessed and that they know that they are a part of the Lord’s work every time that they give. Bless the givers, bless and prosper them, and all that they put their hands to for Your glory and honor, Amen!
