Deuteronomy 4:9 ESV
“Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children’s children…”
This is a speech from Moses to the children of Israel before the new generation would enter in the promise land. This generation had seen the blessings of God and the curse of disobeying God. To take this lesson for our day; we too have seen the blessings of God, and we have seen the consequences of not following God. But to remember both times is to change our future to make the right decisions. Furthermore, we have the responsibility to tell our children and our grandchildren so they will know the correct path to follow in their own lives.
Prayer: Father, I haven’t always chosen the correct way, but I have seen the blessings in obeying you and I have seen the consequences of disobeying. I pray today that you give me the wisdom to learn from my past. And make straight paths for my future and the future of my children and grandchildren.
