Salty

Matthew 5:13 ESV
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.”

Many years ago, when I went from regular Morton salt to low sodium salt, my taste buds said it was not a good fit, my taste buds were in revolt, it was lacking, but it was better for me. It was almost like salt had lost its saltiness.

For the world, when the rapture takes place and all the Christian influence is gone, the salt will be gone. This world will be in a free fall. The Spirit of God is the only power that keeps this world from self-destruction.

We are not here on earth just to make it through, just to get by, just to serve our time. We are here to be God’s hands, feet, and voice. We are here to be influencers. Some may feel like they don’t have the personality or wherewithal to be an influencer but if the Spirit of God is in you, you in fact are a influencer.

Jesus did not say if you are the salt of the earth, He said, “You are the salt of the earth.” But He immediately asks, “if the salt has lost its taste (influence), how shall its saltiness be restored?” The answer? By getting back to being who we were anointed to be, influencers, anointed men, and women. To lead and not follow, to spread the joy, the peace and the love that God has ordained us to have.

This world will not change unless we, the salt, gets back to being salty, where we make a difference. Where we look like children of God, act like children of God and show forth the honor of God in our lives. Now get out there and make the world taste good again.

Prayer:
Lord, we act like low sodium salt when we need to be good ole Morton table salt. Bring back the flavor in us, bring back the character of Christ in us, and give us a fresh anointing to be influencers. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
