Job 1:8 ESV
“And the Lord said to Satan, “’Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”’
God was proud of Job, so proud in fact He knew when He blatantly offered Job up to allow Satan to reak havic in his life, that in the end Job would still be the man of renown character, an upright man that loved God.
You and I know the rest of the story; how God allowed Satan to destroy Job’s life and livelihood, his family and ultimately his health. We remember the pain and agony he went through and the sleepless nights he endured. We have all had personal stories of pain and agony, asking God why and when it would all end. Then we think, why do bad things happen to good people?
I don’t have all the answers for every situation that you have been through, but difficult times should make us stronger, wiser, more understanding of others who are suffering. Difficult times should build our faith, make us lean on God more, trust Him more. Troubled times should make us stronger.
Prayer:
Father, I don’t like trials and troubles. I don’t like the times that You lead me in the valley of the shadow of death, but I know you are with me, and that Your rod and staff they comfort me. I know there will be times of peace again, times of leading me beside the still waters. I know after the trouble is over, once again I will realize I am blessed beyond measure.
