Passion Week Day 3
Mark 11:21-24 AMP
“And remembering, Peter said to Him, “Rabbi (Master), look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered!” Jesus replied, “Have faith in God [constantly] Jesus replied, “Have faith in God [constantly].
I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will].
For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you.”
Passages like this one have two extremes; those who “name it and claim it”or the “prosperity movement” and those who don’t believe God gives us anything unless He decides too.
Let me put this passage in context; Have faith in God, or have an extremely close relationship with God where we trust Him in everything and for everything and we ask God to move a mountain and it is in His will He will do it.
If we believe in God for everything and in every situation, we have given in to His perfect will. Not too many of us are going to ask God to move mountains but, when we ask for NEEDS, not just wants, He provides.
When Jesus told His disciples to pray, He was talking about having an open communication between us and God. One where we talk and God listens and then He talks and we listen. When that happens we will understand how to receive from God.
Prayer:
Lord, I know that if my relationship with is as You extended it to be, I can ask correctly and You will provide all my needs! I receive the promises of Your word!
