Make Disciples
Matthew28:19-20 ESV
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
What is a disciple? A student or a follower. A true disciple of Christ is one who has committed themselves to learn from and follow Jesus Christ in everything that He taught us. Being a follower doesn’t mean we can just follow, we have to be doing His work at all times.
We need to do His work even when we are about our daily routine and business. In fact, in the later part of this passage it says that we are not only supposed to be learning and doing, we are to be teaching what Christ said as well.
Making disciples is an action, not for just the church not just for the missionaries but for all disciples. We are to be teaching, training and even correcting. The only way to get the Word out faster, is to train converts to listen, learn, become strong and then replicate.
Prayer:
Lord, help me not to just listen or read Your words. Help me to be a faithful doer of Your words. For if I do what Your words say, and I don’t forget what I heard or read, then You will bless me and all that I put my hands to.
