Fueled Hope
Proverbs 23:17b-18 AMP
“…But [continue to] live in the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the Lord day by day. Surely there is a future [and a reward], And your hope and expectation will not be cut off.”
Fearing God is so misunderstood. Fearing God is acknowledging who He is, what He has done, and in awe of His power and might. We ooh and awe over sunrises and sunsets, we awe at the beauty of a flower or a meadow in spring but we have trouble being in complete awe of God.
Solomon says, if we are completely enthrawled with God day after day after day, we will have a secure future and rewards… that I can believe. What’s more Solomon says that as we worship, praise, read, pray and stay in that attitude, our hope and expectation will not be cut off.
To turn that statement around when we pray, worship, read, praise and stay in that attitude, we can expect our hopes and expectations to come to fruition. I can bring the information, it’s up to us to follow God’s guidelines to get where we want to be.
Prayer:
Lord, someone today needs hope and assurance that life is going to turn around. The way to do that is to get into Your presence and stay there. Stir within hearts today that we will see the light at the end of the tunnel.
