Chosen

John 15:17 AMP
“You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting…”

1) “You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you…” Understand, we were chosen by God first. Yes, we make a decision to say yes to Him, but He first chose us, and that is amazing to me. Jesus our Savior hand picked us!!!

2) “I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing…” Think of that, Jesus appointed, placed and purposefully planted you and me right where we are, amazing!

Why did He do that? So that we would bear fruit, and keep on bearing fruit, and keep bearing fruit…get the point? This bearing fruit is a phrase used to describe the outward actions that result from the inward condition of a person’s heart.

So when we help, strengthen, encourage, “love [unselfish concern for others],express joy, express inner peace, Us patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], are kind, good, faithful, gentle, self-controled,” (Galatians 5:22-23 AMP) we are bearing fruit, being fruitful.

3) Jesus said that fruit will remain because it is infectious and people remember when people have the right heart and attitude.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for choosing us. But that choosing comes with responsibilities: We have accepted You, so we have to bear fruit and keep on bearing it forever. Then when all of that lines up in our lives, that fruit that we bear will remain forever, and You will anoint us and empower us to do what You have called us to do in life and people will know You by our fruit.
