Never Alone
Ecclesiastes 4:12 NLT
“A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
I have learned a valuable lesson in this life; a person should never be alone. There needs to be someone as a point of contact if for no other reason than to have someone that they can communicate with and find strength.
I have watched a few in my life that have separated themselves and made their way alone. Alone can be deafening at times, I should know because as for myself, left to my own thoughts can be maddening, thank God for my wife.
Even if we no longer have a spouse, we have to find meaning and purpose, we have to find a soul to confide in. A source of strength when we need it, someone that will pray for us, encourage us, and be a voice of reasoning in our lives. Solomon says that two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Better than two is a three stranded chord. Three close friends are great, but Jesus being the third is even better. We want to keep Jesus in the center of our relationships for strength, help and love.
Prayer:
Lord, despite what we think, we need people in our lives, people we can trust and who will stand with us. Someone to pray with us and for us, someone that we can reason with. We need people, people need us, and mostly we need You in our relationships to be the three stranded chord that cannot be broken. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
