God So Loved
1 John 4:16 ESV
“So, we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
You know, I believe most people, including a score Christians, have no idea of the kind of love God has for them.
Romans 5:8 says, “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” When we were not serving God, when we were not walking with God, God still loved us.”
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Concentrate on the words “so” in John 3:16. God so loved us. That word so can cover a lot of ground: God’s love looked beyond all of our faults, failures, strivings, worries, fears, and times when we gave up on ourselves.
God looked beyond our past and loved us anyway. He loved us then and He loves us now and He will always, always love us no matter what we think, no matter what we do, no matter where we go.
That love for us is “SO’ great that He was willing to let His Son lay down His life to save us forever. So we could live in His presence forever. The next time you do not feel loved, think, God “so” loved me, even when I do not feel loved or lovable.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for “so” loving me, no matter who I was, no matter who I am. Because of Your great love for me I have a hope, a future and I belong to someone that loves me no matter who I think I am. Thank you, Amen!
