My Salvation

Psalms 62:1-2 ESV

“For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.”

If it were not for the Lord, how would we make it. He is not just our salvation when we turned to Him in the beginning of our Christian walk, He is our salvation every day. He is the one who watches over us to be sure our feet are on level pathways. He is the one who watches over us deep in the night. He is the one that goes before us and is our guard from behind us.

When I was in my teens, I would go into the forest to hunt for small game. I remember this one morning when I came upon a small pond to see if there were any ducks on the pond. It was just beginning to be daylight, and I could see the pond was clear, but I looked in front of me just a few steps and there was a moccasin curled up, ready to strike. I lowered my gun and shot the moccasin, killing it. I accredit the Lord for saving me from harm that day.

There are countless situations since then that the Lord has saved me and many thousands that He had to rescue me from. Our God is faithful, He is our salvation every day and He is our Rock, our Fortress, an ever-present help in the time of trouble (Psalms 46:1).

Prayer:

Thank You Lord for salvation every day of our lives. It is You who watches, You who directs, You who delivers. We trust in You. In Your Righteous name Lord, Amen!
