Loving

1 John 4:8

“Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

If we look into the world and we judge by the standards of this verse, we will see a lot of people who do not know God. People who are angry and bitter, people that are self-serving and proud, people who commit lawlessness. What do people see when they see us? Do they see forgiveness, kindness, obedience to our God, do they see love in us?

Often times, we get too caught up in life to engage and care. What are we on earth for? Why has God placed us here, in this place, at this time in life? Is it not to reveal His hand, to show His power, to be a beacon and a light to those that we know and to the lost as well? God’s love has to be manifested somehow. So, He has chosen each of us to bear His name and to represent Him. This is just a friendly reminder that we have a work to do while we have the strength to do it.

Prayer:

Lord, use us to be Your hands to those around us. Use us to show mercy, to show love and acceptance. At the same time, we have to take a stand for Your cause, to refute the enemy, to overcome the darkness but to love those in the darkness in a way that we snatch them from the flames of fire. Let love be our motivation! In Your name Righteous Savior, Amen!
