Revelation
Proverbs 29:18
“Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.”
In times before the Bible, God revealed His will through prophets who communicated God’s messages to the people. Revelations of God’s perfect will are a necessary part of our walk with the Lord. That is why it is so important to read God’s words daily, it is God’s will for all mankind.
In the Old Testament times it was recorded, “There was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes,” (Judges 21:25). We know how that turned out, and we know how that would work today. People doing what is right in their own eye’s spells trouble.
Today, as in all times throughout history, the culture needs to know what is acceptable to God, the Bible supplies that information. If it were not for faithful people living the words of God, relaying the will of God, broadcasting God’s will, this world would be worse than it is now. That’s hard to imagine, but it’s true.
There has to be a voice for God’s will, there has to be physical evidence of God’s will in operation. That is up to the Christians in this world. Otherwise, this world will get darker.
Prayer:
Lord, help us be a reflection of Your glory. Let us be carriers of Your will and Your word to the world. Let us not be silent but empower us to broadcast Your will and Your words. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
