Psalms 1:1-2 ESV
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.”
Blessed is the person who does not take counsel with a vile person. There is enough righteous people in the world still that can guide us in all that is good from the hand of the Lord.
Blessed is the person who does not run swiftly to do harm with sinners. We can be like Jesus and set sinners on the right pathway but still not be in their company when they were acting out their treachery.
Blessed is the person who is not found with people who mocks or makes fun of someone or something, often making light of those with religious values or moral standings. What’s more that blessed person is found often meditating and thinking on scriptures that uplift, scriptures that give them insight and direction, scriptures that build them up and make them better children of God.
Prayer:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand in the ways of righteousness and not in the way of destruction or in destructive behavior.
